Gallery Description
Figurative art is the style of painting where humans, animals and other forms are represented in a symbolic manner. The form is given more prominence in figurative paintings and it is considered as a self-representation of the artist.
The artist uses this work of art to bring to life his emotions and his conscious self. It is true that most of the figurative art depicts human bodies each of them conveying a particular mood. The forms bring out the morals and outlook of the individual who produced it.
A good figurative painting can exhort viewers to participate emotionally in the work. The viewer gets into a dialogue with the artist enjoying the pain, the love and the warmth portrayed in these paintings. It shows the inner essence of humanity and communicates universally to all humans.
Figurative art takes as its primary objects, the human beings, their moods, form and image. Now why is the human form considered so important in self-expression? Think about this, how much of artistic knowledge do you need to see a human in sorrow or despair and realize his feelings? The human form conveys a sense of life and vigor. The ability of the humans to understand human forms and sentiments is the primary reason for considering humans as the primary subjects in figurative art.
